It has just been officially confirmed by the BBC that girl band Remember Monday will represent the United Kingdom at Eurovision 2025.
As it was pre-announced yesterday, the British entry in Eurovision 2025 aired for the first time via the Scott Millis Breakfast show at BBC Radio 2. We had the chance to listen to “WTHJH” by country trio Remember Monday and then a live chat with them. In more detail, the presenter stated: “
After three years of pop entries, the UK has picked country music, a genre that is particularly popular this year. Behind the BBC’s choice are, as we have already mentioned, Sam Ryder’s manager, David May, and Andrew Cartmell , executive producer of BBC Studios North and British Head of Delegation.
For the record, the information about Remember Monday was leaked a few days ago, when… it escaped the hosts of Group Chat With Nat And Vicky. Specifically, they said that “the BBC will follow a different path this year, choosing country music, which is having its moment on the world stage. We saw Beyonce win Grammys for a country album.” Then, they mentioned that Remember Monday is BBC’s choice for Eurovision 2025.
Who are Remember Monday?
Remember Monday consists of Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele . The three met in high school and bonded over their shared love of music. They decided to meet every Monday to create music . They rose to fame after appearing on The Voice UK in 2019, where they impressed the judges with their harmonies and song choices.
The trio has gained huge popularity on TikTok, where they upload covers of various songs, often in parking lots due to the acoustics. They have 30k followers on Spotify, while their videos on YouTube have garnered over 5 million views. To date, they have released several singles including Laugh about it, Fat Bottomed Girls, Famous and Prove me right .
