LIMNOS, GREECE – A two-week camp is taking place next summer on the island of Limnos in Greece, inviting teens of the Hellenic Diaspora to reconnect with their culture, language, traditions, and history.
Since 2013, Surf Club Keros has been a popular organization known for connecting young Greeks aged 13 to 17 through sports, watersports activities and cultural workshops throughout the summer.
Each year, it hosts a variety of camps which provide young Diaspora Greeks with the opportunity to connect with their heritage in an engaging and meaningful way.
Next year, they will be hosting their Youth Heritage camp, which is set to take place during three different periods, from July 17 to July 31, July 31 to August 14, and August 14 to August 28. The two-week summer camp sessions will be held in collaboration with Web2Learn, which is a Greek company that specializes in open and social learning.
The Youth Heritage Camp will provide teens with the opportunity to stay in a luxury safari tent, with air conditioning, bathrooms, and real beds, receive fresh meals daily, as well as participate in hands-on cooking classes, visit local farms and experience local foods.
Participants will also engage in learning the Greek language through a range of interactive experiences, including games, cultural activities, music, dance, food culture, mythology, and storytelling.
The program further incorporates lessons in Greek history, with visits to archaeological sites and participation in educational treasure hunts.
While the camp will primarily operate in English, it provides participants across the globe with opportunities to learn and practice Greek. The program is supported by certified watersports instructors and qualified first-aid, medical, and lifeguard staff to ensure the safety of all who attend.
The Youth Heritage Camp will offer a diverse range of activities to those who attend, including daily surfing, kitesurfing, and scuba diving sessions, where participants can develop their skills, as well as a love for the sea. Campers will also explore Greece’s rich maritime heritage, while learning about Greek culture, history, and democracy, as well as the importance of sustainability and ocean preservation.
In addition, the program includes excursions, exploration activities, and workshops on community and identity, gastronomy, farming, and the unique flavors of the island of Limnos.
According to the Youth Heritage Camp’s media release, Surf Club Keros in Limnos is the first ‘glamping’ resort in Greece, and is known as a leading surfing destination, which is located in a protected ecosystem.
“Since 2013, it has been running safe, fun and life-changing youth camps that combine watersports, community and cultural immersion. Backed by years of hospitality experience, the team creates a unique space where teens grow through adventure, nature, and shared heritage,” the release read.
In 2025, Keros Surf Club recorded 285 participants, 60% of which were repeat attendees. Since the camp’s establishment, it has seen over 2,000 young Diaspora Greeks take part.
With a focus on building friendship through shared Greek roots and unforgettable life experiences, the Youth Heritage Camp looks forward to hosting the Greek youth next summer.
