TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — On Tuesday night, each fraternity and sorority council on campus decided to get their groove on as a part of Greek Week.
Greek Sing is the event that brings all of these Greek Week teams together through dance. The teams were tasked to create dances and skits based on this year’s theme, which is Greeks On Holiday.
“Each team was assigned a holiday, such as Christmas, Valentine’s Day, New Year’s Eve, all the sorts,” said Brooke Darnall, Executive Director of Troy’s Greek Week Committee. “The dances tonight were themed by their holidays.”
The event, along with Greek Week itself, were created to help bring students together across campus.
“It really gives us a chance to promote unity not only in the Greek unity, but within Troy itself,” said Faith Stoudemire, Co-Director of the Greek Week Committee.
Teams had dances that had wildly different music relating to their respective holiday. Some dances were even informative.

Performers felt a sense of pride when they were preparing their teams’ dances. Jonny Roberson, a Freshman in Lambda Chi Alpha, talked about his experience rehearsing their team’s Christmas themed dance.
“It was super fun. It was an every night thing. We were at the house and we were learning dances. I am a performer naturally as well as a music major, so it’s really what I do all day. It was super cool knowing that all of these people were seeing me do what I worked hard to learn.”
