Town’s first artisan market has 50 stalls, live music, and reptile exhibition

WINSFORD’s first artisan market will have 50 stalls, live music, and even a reptile exhibition.

Planned to coincide with the launch of the town’s long-awaited new outdoor events space, Saturday, May 31, will be the first of perhaps many artisan market days in the town.

This pop-up event will feature independent food stalls selling everything from farm produce and homemade delicacies such as fresh pies and cakes, to cheese, samosas, chutneys, local honey, and sauces.

There will also be uniquely crafted artisan products including wooden hand carvings, jewellery, accessories, and pet treats.

To lend the event a festive atmosphere, there will be live music from artist, Toni Paulson, a circus workshop, face painting, balloon modelling, and a special exhibition of snakes and lizards by the North West Reptile Club.

And if shopping makes you peckish, you could sample some of the street foods on offer, which will include Greek gyros, fresh pasta, homemade burgers, freshly made crêpes, ice-cream, and bubble tea.

Their company, D&D Artisan Markets, provides small-scale independent makers of quality goods with a chance to get their wares in front of a buying public, while creating a fun day out for all the family into the bargain.

Caitlin said: “Our aim is to create a real community event in Winsford while giving visitors a diverse shopping experience, which includes showcasing independent and local producers.

“We’re hoping to provide a new space for small businesses, artisans, and food vendors to showcase their goods whilst also contributing to the local economy.

The artisan market will be running alongside Winsford’s already established indoor market, with hopes of stimulating shoppers’ interest in what the town’s independent traders have to offer.

Caitlin added: “We’re just as excited to be working with Cheshire West and Chester Council as we are alongside Winsford’s fantastic traditional indoor market.”

Winsford artisan market is open from 10am to 4pm.
