Tornos News | Skopelos: Cultural Summer 2025 with music, books, and traditions


The Municipality of Skopelos is preparing a rich program of events for the summer of 2025, as part of its annual cultural planning, with the aim of highlighting the island’s cultural identity and the active participation of all municipal communities. The program includes a series of activities that cover the entire spectrum of entertainment, from musical concerts and theatrical performances to literary presentations, exhibitions and traditional festivals, while it is co-organized and supported by local cultural associations and organizations.

The events begin on July 1, the feast day of Saints Anargyroi, with a dance event in the courtyard of the homonymous church. The event is organized by the Cultural and Beautification Association of Neo Klima, ENOTITA, with the participation of the club’s dance departments.

Immediately after, from July 1 to 4, the Rebetiko Song Festival follows, which will be hosted in emblematic places in Skopelos Town, such as Panagitsa tou Pyrgos, the Vakratsa Mansion, the Nirvana Museum, and the KAPI Enteufkterio, with the collaboration of local clubs and groups. On July 18 and 19, the Balkan Sounds Festival will follow in the area below Panagitsa tou Pyrgos, while from July 20 to 25, Mr. Christos Alexopoulos’ book on the history of Greece will be presented at the Archontiko Vakratsa, accompanied by an art exhibition by Mr. Kontaroudis in the basement of the building.

During the same period, on July 22, in the central square of Glossa, there will be a presentation of the book Between Two Gods by Mr. Malamos, as well as Ms. Dinou’s poetry collection. In between and until July 30, classical music evenings are planned at locations of historical and cultural character, while from August 1 to 17, the Archontiko Vakratsa will host an exhibition of works by Mr. Kyranis on the theme of Skopelos. On August 2, in the same place, Mr. Konstantinos Paschalis.

Tradition also has its place in the Municipality’s summer program, with two traditional festivals: on August 6 in the courtyard of the KAPI Auditorium, with island and folk songs, and on August 15 in the Loutraki area. The cultural summer will culminate with the Skopelos Week, which will be held from August 25 to 27 in front of the KAPI Auditorium, in collaboration with the Skopelos Cultural Association.

With a variety of activities that cover different tastes and ages, the Municipality of Skopelos seeks to keep the cultural life of the island alive and to strengthen the participation of both residents and visitors in the cultural events of the area.
