Classical music and jazz concerts in Rhodes, a conference on artistic education and disability in the age of artificial intelligence, a concert by a leading representative of the global electro-dance music scene and an international art exhibition in Athens will take place in September under the auspices of the Greek National Tourism Organization.
These are high-level cultural events, which also highlight the extroverted face of Greek tourism and the diversity of the Greek tourist product, while, at the same time, they contribute to attracting foreign visitors to our country with an increased interest in cultural tourism.
In particular:
From tomorrow, September 5 to 12, the 18th International Rhodes Festival will take place with the support of the Greek National Tourist Organization, which will be hosted at the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights in the Old Town, as well as in Kastelorizo in the context of the anniversary of the liberation of the island. The festival program includes classical music and jazz concerts and a tribute event to the leading film composer, Ennio Morricone, which will be accompanied by a documentary screening at the Museum of Modern Greek Art. The 18th International Rhodes Festival, which has now become an internationally renowned cultural institution, is co-organized by the cultural organization “International Rhodes Festival” and the Municipality of Rhodes, under the artistic and general direction of the special cultural management consultant, Penelope Serdari, founder of the festival.
On September 6 and 7, the 2nd International Regular Conference will be held at the Serafio Conference Center of the Municipality of Athens on the topic: “Artistic Education and Disability in the Age of Artificial Intelligence – The “Open Access Music Schools” Close to Society”. The conference is co-organized by the Department of Music Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the National Commission for Human Rights, the National Confederation of Persons with Disabilities and the “Alypios” Music School. The focus of the work will be on Artificial Intelligence and the ways in which it can contribute to artistic education and therapies related to disability, but also more generally to practical aspects of everyday life.
On September 20, Anassa City Events in Athens will host a concert – DJ set by Solomun. The Bosnian DJ from Hamburg is currently considered one of the leading representatives of the international electronic and dance music scene, since from Ibiza to Berlin, New York and Tulum, his appearances have become a reference point for how music can unite the audience. According to the information available so far, the concert is expected to be attended by more than 5,000 people, of which 2,000 will come from abroad.
Finally, from September 25 to 28, the exhibition “KSENOI 2.0” will be held in Athens, organized by the independent artistic platform of the same name. The exhibition focuses on the concepts of foreignness, identity, heritage and belonging, through the symbolism of the knot, a complex and multidimensional form that carries memories, roots and personal journeys. Participating artists are invited to reflect on their cultural identities, while visitors are invited to a collective exploration of what it means to belong. The aim of the exhibition is to strengthen the dialogue between Greece and the diaspora, to promote Greek culture abroad and to contribute to strengthening the country’s cultural extroversion.
