Tornos News | Municipality of Aristotle

The Municipality of Aristotle Halkidiki held a targeted promotional event in the city of Floriana, Malta, strengthening its collaboration with the tourism organization Travel Global Book, which since 2024 has included the pre-Athonite peninsula in its program.

The event took place at the exquisite Onda Blu restaurant in Marina di Valleta, attracting high-ranking business and banking executives, journalists, bloggers, and prominent personalities. Among them were the Ambassador of Greece to Malta, Ms. Tasia Athanasiou, the Ambassador of Egypt to Malta, and the Mayor of Valletta, Olaf McKay.

During the presentation, Eastern Halkidiki highlighted:

  • Its unique characteristics as a destination for leisure, culture, gastronomy, and wine tourism.
  • Specialized proposals for corporate trips, taking advantage of the fact that Malta hosts the headquarters of multinational companies.
  • Thematic gastronomic getaways, with an emphasis on the KOUZINA festival and periods associated with local agri-food products, such as the harvest, cheese, and beer production.

This was followed by a gastronomic dinner with the signature of the executive chef of Mount Athos Resort and chef ambassador of Eastern Halkidiki, Tassos Paraskevaides. The menu, inspired by monastic tradition, included fresh fish, winter vegetables, legumes, and seafood, accompanied by rosé and red wines from the Holy Monastery of Chilandari. The evening concluded with Greek music by DJ Costas Symeonidis.

Before the event, Mayor Aristotle met with the Mayor of Valletta, and it was agreed to network Ammouliani with Valletta, with an emphasis on cultural and educational exchanges. The initiative will be completed in September in Ammouliani.

“Green Mediterranean Islands on the Same Geographic Parallel”

The action is part of the “Green Mediterranean Islands on the Same Geographic Parallel” program, which aims to attract visitors during the autumn and winter months. The travel agency Global Travel Book has already posted relevant programs on its online catalog, while smaller agencies are preparing Easter getaways in the mountainous massif.

“Small but dynamic Mediterranean markets, such as Malta, attract experienced travelers and are a strategic target for Eastern Halkidiki, which is investing in sustainable, multi-thematic tourism development,” emphasized the Mayor of Aristotelis, Stelios Valianos.
