The tribute, curated by the Deputy Mayor’s Office for Education, Lifelong Learning and Culture, includes two concerts under the title “Mikis Theodorakis & Stavros Kougioumtzis: Parallel Lives”, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mikis Theodorakis and the 20th anniversary of the death of Stavros Kougioumtzis.

During the concerts, some of the most important songs of the two creators will be heard, while rare audiovisual material will be shown, capturing the relationship of mutual appreciation between them, through testimonies, photographs and shared moments from their personal and artistic archives.

The texts, audiovisual material and presentation will be edited by the researcher of Greek music and writer Thanasis Gioglou, an employee of the Municipality of Kalamaria, while the artistic editing, orchestrations and direction of the orchestra are signed by the composer and artistic director of the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamaria, Christos Bernardos.

Participating:
