From July 3 to July 6, Leonidio is preparing for another year to transform into a colorful, multinational canvas of cultures, with the established Mubitzz 2025 festival opening its gates to visitors from every corner of the world. In the capital of Tsakonia, music, dance, and tradition mingle into an atmosphere that is full of vitality and creativity.

This year, the festival’s theme is titled “Jubelou” and is dedicated to the proud Tsakonissa, dressed in her traditional costume, the characteristic Jube. Through this tribute, eggplant invites visitors to a magical journey of exploration of the Cultural Heritage of the Tsakonas and Tsakonochoria.

The picturesque streets, alleys, squares, and tower houses of the traditional settlement will be filled with music scenes. Leonidio will be turned into an open music platform where sounds from every corner of the globe will cross with the particular Tsakonian music elements. Artists of international renown and local stars will join forces, composing a program full of emotion and rhythm.

This celebration is a unique opportunity for Leonidio and the wider area of ​​Tsakonia to highlight their rich cultural roots. The Tsakonian language, the only living descendant of the Doric dialect, and the Tsakonian dance, which draws inspiration from the myths of Apollo and Theseus, starring in a narrative that connects the past with the present.

And of course, the “queen” of the celebration is not missing: the famous Tsakonian eggplant Leonidiou, a product of protected designation of origin (PDO). Tastings, traditional recipes, and contemporary eggplant creations will flood the city’s tables, offering a unique gastronomic experience.
