Cyprus hosts a diverse weekend of cultural events from 24-25 January, featuring Michalis Violaris’s musical comedy tribute in Nicosia, a Harry Potter symphony in Limassol, and multiple theatre productions across the island. Gallery exhibitions continue across Nicosia and Limassol whilst new films premiere at Rio cinemas.
MUSIC
Nicosia, Municipal Theatre, Saturday 24 January, 7.30pm. The musical comedy “Énan Klonín Vasilitzián” is based exclusively on “Kypriotika tou Violari”, the double album released in 1970 by acclaimed Cypriot artist Michalis Violaris, featuring compositions and lyrics by major creators. Well-known performer Dimitris Mesimeris sings. Acclaimed Cypriot singer-songwriter Michalis Violaris will honour the Nicosia performance with his presence. Larnaca, G. Limassol, Monte Caputo, Saturday 24 January, 3.30pm. “Harry’s Magic Symphony” promises a unique musical experience—a spectacular symphonic programme dedicated to the magical world of Harry Potter by the Lords of the Sound symphony orchestra. The performance invites audiences on a journey through the most iconic musical moments of the legendary film saga, brought to life through the power of live orchestral performance. Limassol, Saturday 24 January, Rialto Theatre, 8.30pm. Kostas Chatzis, with his timeless performances and deeply humanistic message, meets Daniela, a performer with a warm, expressive voice and distinctive artistic identity.
