Cyprus is ready for Eurovision 2025 in Basel this May. They’ll be represented by Theo Evan, who exudes confidence with his simply addictive pop song, “Shh.”
In the music video, Theo plays a board game with an enemy with no face. In a world filled with people with no faces, just like shadows, the singer remains true to his own self and manages to escape. The song and the music video features everything from soaring high notes to energetic dance moves and flames — the ending is literally in flames! Yeah, yeah, fire!

Cyprus at Eurovision 2025: Theo Evan with “Shh”
Theo Evan hails from Nicosia, born into a Cypriot-Greek family. He began training in music and dance at the age of seven, starting in his school’s choir. By his teenage years, he was already writing his own lyrics.
After graduating from The English School in Nicosia, Theo moved to the United States to study music and performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where he later graduated with honours. His debut single, “The Wall,” was released in 2021. He also made a brief appearance as an extra in Euphoria (Season 2, Episode 7).
Following a period of living in Los Angeles, Theo returned to his homeland to focus on his music career.
What do the “Shh” lyrics mean?
Believe it or not, even though at first glance the song seems like a pop love song about an overconfident boy, there may be a deeper meaning behind Theo Evan’s lyrics. The song could actually be inspired by Greek mythology—specifically, the story of Narcissus, a hunter from Thespiae known for his extraordinary beauty and the way he made everyone fall in love with him. However, he rejected all who adored him until he saw his own reflection in a pool of water. Overcome with love for himself, he ultimately perished—most commonly by drowning. After his death, he was reborn as the flower that now bears his name.
The song starts by describing his beauty and how his downfall was foretold:

There is also a part of the song that may symbolise the death of Narcissus—falling deep, losing his life, and struggling between heaven and hell:
