Milos and Paros are selected by the internationally renowned magazine Conde Nast Traveller as the top two destinations to visit in 2025.
The selection was made, as mentioned, by the well-traveled team of the magazine, which reflects in the most authoritative way the significant impact that the two Cycladic islands have acquired in the global tourism landscape.
As the article by the magazine’s editors with millions of readers points out, Milos “sweeps” on Instagram, which is “filled with unfiltered shots of the undulating white cliffs at Sarakiniko, the green swimming hole at Papafragas, and the multicolored fishermen’s shacks—tiny houses with boats wedged between rock and sea. The best photo opportunities will be found at Klima and Mandrakia.”
And the magazine continues: “This picturesque landscape was shaped by the minerals that have long been a source of wealth—obsidian, alum, barite, and sulfur, which continue to bubble up in the island’s many hot springs. As the 11,000-year-old mining industry gradually gives way to tourism, some chic hotels have made their appearance.”
For Paros, the magazine acknowledges that “While it’s no longer as much of a secret as it once was, thanks in part to its recent feature on Netflix’s One Day, Paros remains one of the quieter islands, frequented mainly by Greeks, island connoisseurs, and those seeking an authentic taste of Greek life.”
It adds that while the pace is much slower than on nearby islands, there is liveliness in Naoussa, but “much of the island remains more serene, more rustic, and—importantly—much cheaper, with villages scattered both high and low across the landscape, connected by footpaths and dotted with al fresco restaurants, private homes, and charming boutiques selling local products.”
