Who is 21-year-old Claude?
Singer and songwriter Claude , originally from Congo, moved to the Netherlands at the age of 13. He remembers that he and his family first learned about Eurovision shortly after moving there, when all of Europe was talking and celebrating the Conchita Wurst phenomenon. His love for the contest and his annual attendance helped to further develop his love for music in general. Combined with his hard work, unique voice and talent, it was soon time for him to conquer the Dutch music scene.
His breakthrough came in 2022 with his debut single “Ladada (Mon Dernier Mot)” which has garnered over 57 million streams. He won the 3FM award for “Best New Artist”, was named “3FM Talent” and was subsequently crowned “Best Artist of the Year” by Qmusic. He also managed to win the hearts of the Dutch public with his participation in the popular Dutch TV program Beste Zangers. Claude released his debut album “Parler Français” in 2024, on which he wrote all the songs himself. With this, he was able to tour the Netherlands and Belgium with his band. That same year, he also assumed the role of Ambassador of Freedom, a particularly honorable moment in his life, which he considered to mean something very special to him, due to his own past.
We remind you that Claude’s announcement as this year’s representative of the Netherlands for Eurovision 2025 was made on December 19, 2024 by the state broadcaster AVROTROS.
