The Germans discover the greenest destination in Greece for 2026

As the authentic Mamma Mia island with a positive aura and impressive nature, Skopelos is featured by WMN.de in one of the first publications by international media that recommend Greece as the ideal destination for 2026.

The German entertainment and travel website describes picturesque villages with winding alleys, wonderful walking trails, dreamlike landscapes that transport you to the Mamma Mia musical, beaches that emerge from the pine forests and exert an unbeatable charm, sea excursions, and many different activities for adventure enthusiasts.

The publication recommends Skopelos for both low and high season, as it remains equally impressive with quality services even during the peak tourist season, reports Agence France-Presse.

“Skopelos uniquely connects different experiences from well-hidden natural corners, absolute tranquility and age-old legends to the glow of Mamma Mia, gastronomy, nature activities, traditions, local production, folk arts, rebetiko, and entertainment. Noting the growing interest from both Greek and foreign travelers, targeted promotion of the destination has begun for 2026 without wasting any time,” notes the appointed Municipal Tourism Councilor of Skopelos Municipality, George Papadavid.

Recently, the Municipality of Skopelos participated in a charity event in London that involved an auction with the first item being the guitar of Bjorn Ulvaeus, a famous singer and member of the ABBA group. The proceeds were donated to the reputable international non-profit organization Nordoff & Robins, which uses music to treat individuals with motor difficulties and disorders.

The event was the most important of the year for Mamma Mia and attracted a large number of important personalities, artists, and British media. By offering accommodation as part of the auction, Skopelos was presented to a select international audience with a focus on active support for vulnerable groups and love for Mamma Mia and ABBA’s music.
