What the Editors of OGAE Greece Think:
- 🎸 Smash Into Pieces – “Hollow”: One of this year’s most talked-about rock/alternative entries. “Hollow” has already generated significant traction among Eurovision fans and across social media, thanks to its striking visual concept and powerful stage energy. Bookmakers place it among the clear favourites for direct qualification — and with good reason. It is a modern rock entry with a strong, catchy chorus and clear appeal to younger audiences. The song also has evident viral potential, particularly in reaction videos and YouTube views, and seems capable of electrifying viewers from the very first seconds.
- 🎤 Meira Omar – “Dooset Daram”: A proposal that breaks away from the traditional Mello pop formula, incorporating more international and oriental influences with a strong personal identity. The song has received positive feedback for its atmospheric aesthetic and interpretative approach, while betting odds indicate solid support for qualification. Meira’s second participation in Melodifestivalen showcases modern production and a refined artistic profile, giving her strong potential to stand out.
- 💫 Cimberly – “Eternity”: A polished pop entry with careful production and clear radio appeal. However, compared to the two leading favourites, it appears to lag slightly behind in hype and online engagement. To contend for a stronger result, it will need a memorable stage performance that enhances its identity and distinguishes it from the competition.
- 🎻 Timo Räisänen – “Ingenting är efter oss”: An indie/alternative entry with artistic depth and a distinct personal style. While it stands out aesthetically, it does not appear to have the same commercial momentum as the more mainstream entries. Online buzz remains moderate, meaning that inventive and emotionally compelling staging could prove crucial to its chances.
- 🎵 Erika Jonsson – “Från landet”: An authentic country entry in Swedish, rooted in themes of rural life and tradition. Erika remains true to her style, incorporating fiddle elements and a folk aesthetic that sets her apart from Melodifestivalen’s usual pop direction. Although country rarely secures direct qualification in Mello, such entries often enjoy a loyal fanbase and can generate sympathy — particularly if the staging highlights the warmth and authenticity of the song.
- 🎶 Felix Manu – “Hatar att jag älskar dig”: A modern, emotional ballad built primarily on melody and vocal delivery. The song gradually builds intensity without relying on elaborate staging effects. Its success will depend largely on Felix’s vocal performance and ability to convey genuine emotion. In the context of Melodifestivalen, ballads of this kind require a powerful stage climax to compete against more explosive and visually spectacular entries.
