Returning artists
The fourth Heat has three returning artists! Andreas Lundstedt, Tennessee Tears and Måns Zelmerlöw have entered the show before.
Andreas Lundstedt is famous in Melodifestivalen as he is making his 10th appearance on the show this year! He debuted in 1996 placing 2nd in the final with the song “Driver dagg faller regn”. He returned in 1997 with the song “Jag saknar dig, jag saknar dig” but he ended up 7th. In 2003 he participated as member of the band Alcazar finishing 3rd with “Not a sinner nor a saint”. The band returned as a favorite-to-win-the-show in 2005 with the epic entry “Alcastar”. They finished 3rd again. In 2007 Andreas participated as a solo singer again with the song “Move” but he finished 6th during the First Heat. In 2009 Alcazar came back in Melodifestivalen with “Stay the night” which ended up 5th in the Final. Just a year later, in 2010, the band participated again with “Headlines”. The entry made it to the Andra chansen round but it was eliminated there. In 2012 Andreas made his last solo try with “Aldrig aldrig”. He came last at the 2nd Heat. Surprise surprise: Alcazar made a come back participation in 2014 with “Blame it on the disco”. They managed to qualify to the Final of the show but they finished in 3rd place.
Tennessee Tears participated for the first time in 2023 with “Now I know”. The song has been eliminated during Heat 2 after finishing in 4th place.
Måns Zelmerlöw debuted Melodifestivalen back in 2007 with “Cara Mia” which became a fan favorite entry. He was one of the bookmarkers’ favorite to win the festival but he finished 3rd instead. He came back in 2009 with another hit song “Hope & Glory”. The song qualified for the Final but ended up in 4th place. In 2015 Måns entered Melodifestivalen again this time with “Heroes”. Lucky third try and yes! He did it! He won the final and he represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest that year. And guess what?! He won the contest too! Let’s see if this will happen again, this year, ten years later.
