Suspect in Greece and Gates gas station robberies arrested after police chase

GREECE, N.Y. — An arrest was made following a series of gas station robberies in Greece and Gates, along with a vehicle pursuit in Rochester on Thursday.

Police says Juwan Baldwin, 32, of Rochester, robbed multiple gas stations and ran from police.

It started when the Greece Police Department responded to an armed robbery at Ridgeway Sunoco on Long Pond Road at 6:32 p.m. Officers say Baldwin flashed a gun and stole cash and property before fleeing.

Shortly after, the Gates Police Department reported a similar robbery. The suspect and vehicle matched the description from the Greece robbery. That’s when officers sent out a county-wide alert.

A Rochester police officer later spotted the vehicle on Lyell Avenue. Officers say Baldwin didn’t stop, leading to a brief pursuit that ended when he lost control of his vehicle.

Baldwin was charged with robbery 1st degree, menacing 2nd degree, and grand larceny. He faces additional charges from Gates and Rochester police.

News10NBC reached out the Gates police to learn where the robbery happened. Check back for updates.
