Stelios Dionyssiou Facing Foreclosure Despite Claims Of Resolution – Greek City Times

Singer Stelios Dionyssiou is facing a serious financial situation, potentially losing his home to foreclosure despite previously downplaying the issue.

News of the impending foreclosure first surfaced a month ago in online listings of upcoming property auctions. According to these records, Dionyssiou’s home, along with additional storage units and parking spaces on the property, is scheduled for auction on November 27th with a starting price of €785,000.

Although Dionyssiou publicly stated a month ago that the issue was merely a formality and that he had initiated legal proceedings to halt the auction, a recent newspaper report indicates that the situation remains unresolved and has become serious.

In a previous interview on the television program “To Proino” with journalist Thanos Vagios, Dionyssiou explained that he purchased the property 25 years ago before the economic crisis with a loan. He attributed his inability to keep up with payments to the decline in his income due to the challenging economic climate affecting many Greeks. He expressed confidence that the issue would be resolved through goodwill and cooperation with the lender, stating that he had already begun repaying part of the debt and was awaiting the finalization of the legal proceedings to stop the foreclosure. He also mentioned that he no longer lives in the property and is currently renting it out. However, the recent report contradicts his earlier assurances, suggesting that the threat of foreclosure is still very real.
