Spring Festival 2025 at the Athens Concert Hall


The Spring Festival 2025 returns to the Megaron – Athens Concert Hall from April 8-14, offering a week-long celebration of music and dance, featuring some of the world’s most celebrated artists. 

This year’s festival features a star-studded lineup of performers, including renowned mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato (April 8), celebrated pianists Igor Levit (April 9), Nikolai Lugansky (April 11), and Bruce Liu (April 12), who will perform with the prestigious Amsterdam Sinfonietta. For dance lovers, the festival presents the distinguished Ballet Preljocaj on April 13-14, showcasing the dance piece Requiem(s), created by Angelin Preljocaj.

Festival Highlights:

  • Joyce DiDonato (April 8) – The acclaimed American mezzo-soprano, known for her dynamic opera performances, will present a recital exploring love through a woman’s lens, accompanied by pianist Craig Terry.
  • Igor Levit (April 9) – Celebrated for his Beethoven recordings, the pianist will perform works from the German classical and romantic repertoires, including Beethoven’s iconic Heroic Symphony in a piano transcription by Liszt.
  • Bruce Liu and Amsterdam Sinfonietta (April 12) – After his triumph at the 2021 Chopin Competition, the Canadian-Chinese pianist joins the renowned string orchestra for an unforgettable concert.
  • Nikolai Lugansky and the State Orchestra of Athens (April 11) – Performing iconic works, including Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring and Beethoven’s Fourth Piano Concerto, this concert will give a taste of classical music history.
  • Ballet Preljocaj – Requiem(s) (April 13-14) – A profound exploration of grief and memory, this powerful new creation by Angelin Preljocaj combines modern music and reimagined traditional dance movements, performed by a ensemble of dancers.
