SKY Express Offers Free Flights For Children And Educators Amid Seismic Activity In Greek Islands

Santorini, February 4, 2025 – In response to the ongoing seismic activity affecting several Greek islands, the airline SKY express has announced an initiative to support local communities by offering free airline tickets for children and educators traveling from Santorini to Athens.

From February 5 to February 9, 2025, all children up to 12 years old, as well as teachers (both permanent and substitute) currently serving in the affected islands of Santorini, Ios, Amorgos, and Anafi, can avail themselves of complimentary tickets provided by SKY express. This gesture comes as part of the airline’s effort to assist residents during these challenging times.

Recognizing the urgent need for reliable transportation due to the seismic disturbances, SKY express added five additional flights to their schedule to and from Santorini as of yesterday, February 3. On Monday, the company operated a total of eight flights from Santorini to Athens, comprising six regular and two supplemental services. Despite inflated demand leading to sold-out seats for today’s flights, SKY express assures that it will continue to assess travel needs, with plans to introduce more emergency flights if required.

The airline also emphasizes the affordability of its services, with the average fare priced at 52.41 euros, inclusive of VAT and airport taxes. This fare includes provisions for hand luggage and a personal item, ensuring a comfortable journey for all passengers.

SKY express maintains ongoing communication with relevant authorities to ensure the quick and effective response needed to support impacted communities. They encourage passengers to stay informed of any updates by visiting their official website at www.skyexpress.com.
