Today, Sunday, January 4, 2026, ERT1 will broadcast live the show “Sing for Greece: The Finalists”, hosted by Betty Maggira. In it, the 28 candidates who are vying to represent Greece at Eurovision 2026, next May in Vienna, will be revealed.
From 18:00 to 21:00 (cet), Betty Maggira , together with Kelly Vranaki and Thanos Papahamos in journalistic management, introduce us to the artists and the stories behind the entries, in a show full of music, interviews, backstage moments and many surprises.
The announcement of the finalists
As Thanos Papachamos announced on the show Studio 4, tonight’s show has 2 parts. In the first part, the audience will have the opportunity to get a first taste of the candidate songs of the February National Final. We will hear snippets from the 28 songs, while in the coming days we expect ERT to publish them on the streaming platforms.
Viewers and eurofans will have the opportunity to get to know each contestant through interviews, presentations and of course snippets of their songs. The 28 contestants will be live in the studio to meet them and to participate in the semi-final draw.
The semi-final draw
A special moment of the evening will be the surprise appearance of Klavdia, who returns to the Eurovision stage in a special role, giving her own pulse and… good luck to this year’s contestants. In the last part of the show, the draw will be held live for the order of appearance of the 28 entries in the two semi-finals of the National Final. This will take place in February on a date that has not yet been announced.
We positively assess the holding of a broadcast to announce the finalists more than a month before the National Final, so that the artists have more time to prepare. As in Eurovision, so in the selection processes, it is considered essential that the candidates have creative time at their disposal to prepare their stage performance.

Information about Sing for Greece
This year, ERT received a record number of 264 entries for the National Final, of which 28 were selected by the preliminary committee for the 2 Semi-Finals. In each Semi-Final, 14 artists will compete to advance to the Grand Final. The 3 competition shows will take place in February.
The result of Sing for Greece will be determined 50% by televoting, 25% by a National Committee and 25% by an international committee.
