Authentic cuisine, live music, dancing, and faith-filled hospitality returns this September
LANHAM, MD — OPA! The beloved St. Theodore Greek Orthodox Church Cultural Festival returns September 26–28, 2025, inviting the community to experience the vibrant sights, sounds, and flavors of Greece right in Lanham. One of the region’s longest-running Greek festivals, the event brings together thousands from across Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia for three days of food, fun, and cultural celebration.
Since 1990, St. Theodore’s annual festival has welcomed families, friends, and neighbors to explore Greek traditions through food, music, and faith. The festival features a wide array of homemade Greek specialties, lively bouzouki music, traditional folk dancing, and guided tours of the church’s breathtaking architecture, vibrant iconography and timeless beauty.
“Our annual festival is more than a cultural event—it’s a reflection of our Orthodox faith, our love of hospitality, and the strength of our parish community,” said St. Theodore Greek Orthodox Church’s Rev. Fr. Manuel J. Burdusi, Protopresbyter and Parish Priest. “We are grateful for everyone who attends, and for the volunteers who make this celebration possible year after year.”
