Screening Of The Much-Discussed Greek Film “I Exist” In Melbourne And Sydney


The highly acclaimed Greek film I Exist (Yparho), directed by Giorgos Tsemperopoulos, will be screened in Australia under the title Stelios.

Set to be shown in April in Australia, the film narrates the captivating journey of the legendary folk singer Stelios Kazantzidis.

The Sydney Greek Festival and the Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM) have announced the screening of the much-anticipated film Stelios (I Exist), a cinematic tribute to the iconic Stelios Kazantzidis. This event offers a unique first look into the remarkable life of one of Greece’s most beloved artists.

The film chronicles Stelios Kazantzidis’s fascinating journey, from his humble beginnings as a child of Pontian refugees to his rise as one of Greece’s most iconic voices. It highlights his struggles, triumphs, and the indelible mark he left on music and culture.

Stelios Kazantzidis is portrayed in the film by one of Greece’s most popular performers, Christos Mastoras, who continues to honor and spread Kazantzidis’s legacy, inspiring new generations of artists and audiences.
