The ambiguity surrounding the San Marino Song Contest!
The exact format of San Marino’s national selection for Eurovision remains unclear, following the announcement earlier this month of the rebranding to “San Marino Song Contest”. It seems that the final will take place on 8 March 2025, under this new name, however “Una Voce per San Marino” continues and it seems that it will include the audition rounds, as well as the semi-finals!
The dates of Una Voce Per San Marino 2025!
“Una Voce per San Marino 2025” will be held in three phases. During the Academy and Auditions phase, all candidates will be evaluated, with 80 singers qualifying for the semi-finals. Four semi-finals will be held for entries from outside San Marino, with two qualifiers from each show. In addition, a fifth semi-final will be held for artists from San Marino, from which one contestant will qualify. In the fifth semi-final, a “second chance” round will take place, from which two more contestants will advance to the Grand Final.
- First Semi-Final – Monday 17 February 2025
- Second Semi-Final – Tuesday 18 February 2025
- Third Semi-Final – Wednesday 19 February 2025
- Fourth Semi-Final – Thursday 20 February 2025
- Fifth Semi-Final – Friday, February 21
We remind you that we already know one of the 80 finalists, who is none other than Justine Mayer, winner of Tour Music Fest 2024!
For now, Albanian Besa Kokëdhima and Norwegian Atle Pettersen are two of the artists who have been announced as participating in Una Voce per San Marino 2025.
We met Besa last year when she represented Albania in Malmö with her song “TITAN”, following her victory at FiK 62. On the other hand, Atle Pettersen became widely known to the Eurovision audience after his participation in Melodi Grand Prix 2023 with the song “Masterpiece”.
“San Marino Song Contest” will be held on 8 March 2025, with 11 songs and will feature changes compared to the current format. Artistic director Massimo Bonelli has hinted that there will be increased transparency in the voting procedures with judges publicly announcing their votes, while Bonelli himself will have the option to award an additional 10 points to an artist.
