The origin of the NORTH FIELDS ™
The NORTH FIELDS ™ didn’t begin as a product. It began as a memory.
Born in Greece and having lived between Athens and New York, with a brief time in New Orleans, I’ve always been drawn to what endures – flavors, rituals, aesthetics – the quiet threads that connect cultures across oceans and generations. When the Greek economic crisis brought my long career in fashion and textiles to a halt, I found myself facing an open page and a deeper question: What can we carry forward from the past – and how do we give it new life today?
That search led me to stories from the American South – particularly Johnston, South Carolina – where peach slices were traditionally preserved in spiced, fruit-laced syrups. I hadn’t lived there, but through those stories and recipes, I recognized something familiar.
The simplicity. The warmth. The patience of preservation. It reminded me of home. It reminded me of us.
With a mind shaped by design and a heart rooted in tradition, I began to imagine The NORTH FIELDS ™ not just as a food label, but as a philosophy – a brand where kalesthesia, the Greek-born sense of balance and beauty, meets substance, and where every jar, every oil, every herb carries cultural memory.
