Registrations are now open for the 2025 Certificate of Attainment in Greek Language exams, which will take place in May at the Greek Community of Melbourne, Examination Centre of Melbourne (Code No: 61007).
This is the only national certification officially recognized by the Greek Ministry of Education to confirm proficiency in Greek as a foreign or second language. The exam offers levels ranging from A1 (for children aged 8-12) to C2 (advanced fluency).
Eligibility &age guidelines
Candidates must be at least 8 years old by May 31, to sit for any level of the exam.
For Level A1:
- Children aged 8-12 as of May 31 can take the A1 exam for young learners.
- Candidates over 12 years old must take the A1 exam for adolescents/adults.
There are no age restrictions for higher levels, but it is recommended that candidates under 16 do not attempt B2, C1, or C2, as these levels require advanced knowledge and experience.
Key registration dates & exam schedule
Applications will be accepted from February 1 to March 20.
The exam dates are as follows:
- May 20 – Levels A1 & A2
- May 21 – Levels B2 & C1
- May 22 – Levels B1 & C2
Candidates will receive confirmation of their exam time and location by March 31.

Registrations are processed electronically via the official platform.
In exceptional cases, paper applications may be accepted.

To complete their registration, candidates must deposit the examination fees:
A1, A2, B1: $155 AUD each
B2, C1, C2: $170 AUD each
