PRIMER Festival 2025 | Metal Magazine

Since its debut in 2018, PRIMER has swiftly consolidated itself as Greece’s leading dance and electronic music event, uniting some of the biggest names in the industry with passionate fans and partygoers alike. PRIMER returns this September 6th and 7th bigger and brighter than ever, taking over the iconic Olympic Athletic Center of Athens (OAKA) and promising extraordinary performances with mind-blowing visuals celebrating the global dance music community.

This year’s PRIMER lineup unites some of the most sought-after DJs in the industry with heavyweights, icons, and local favourites alike, also binding genres and generations to deliver a unique immersive experience for fans from across Europe and beyond. In charge of kicking off the festivities on both days is Greece’s local and PRIMER resident DJ, Maus. With dynamic and energy-filled sets opening both days, he’ll set the perfect tone for what’s to come.

Following last year’s double-stage and sold-out crowds, this year’s edition promises larger-than-life production, inaugurating a brand-new main stage, Helios. Local duo MĪMĪXFY, formed by Miroslava Djordjevic (MĪMĪ) and Maya Pejcic (FY), will be one of the acts debuting the new stage with their eclectic sets featuring house, techno, electronic music, melodic house, acid house, deep house, and downtempo. Grammy-winning and internationally recognised German producer Purple Disco Machine will also be performing his nu-disco and house mixes on the Helios stage.

As the music immerses attendees deeper and deeper and the sun begins to set, performances from Benin-born and USA-based DJ AMÉMÉ and Ukrainian musical duo and the melodic techno prowess of ARTBAT promise to keep everyone on their feet dancing the day away. The Helios stage will then be graced by Dutch trance icon and headliner Armin Van Buuren blasting his unparalleled style of blissful rave energy and delectable selection of uplifting and progressive trance, psytrance, progressive house, electro house, and so much more.

After closing off the Helios stage, German techno maestro Boris Brejcha takes on the Lunar Stage with his characteristic Venice carnival mask and mind-bending techno, progressive house, and trance mix. Joining him that night on the Lunar stage are Italian duo Fideles, Greek trance titan Hi Profile, breakout artist Afshin Momandi, and Kalamo, one of Greece’s freshest faces, carrying fans to the brink of dawn and into the second day.

PRIMER then continues Sunday with revamped energy, welcoming boundary-pushing sounds and creativity at the hands of timeless live sets from Faithless and Paul Kalkbrenner at the Helios stage. Dazzling visuals guaranteed, of course. Swedish powerhouse and iconic DJ and record producer Alesso will headline that same stage. As the crowd shifts to the Lunar Stage, Afro-house star Massuma will be bringing his groovy blends of rhythms coupled with SKINNY’s new wave house and techno sounds later on.

Living up to its multi-genre premise, PRIMER will be offering various genres of electronic music, ensuring there’s something for each attendee to rave to with a delectable lineup of all-stars. Having been ranked #42 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Festivals roundup, this year’s edition of PRIMER is set to mark a before and after for the festival. With jaw-dropping stage productions and world-renowned talent under the stars, how could one not go?
