The Eurovision is an event with passionate fans. Especially in our country, after the strong participation of Marina Satti in 2024, expectations are high, and Greek Eurofans are eager to find out who our representative will be this year.
The national final will take place on January 29, 2025, with Elena Paparizou and Sakis Rouvas “locking in” as the presentation duo. Moreover, we’ve learned that ERT executives considered them to be two symbolic figures for the institution and offered them everything to entice them.
The method of selecting the Greek representative is of particular interest. After the songs are presented live, two juries [one Greek and one with international personalities] will determine 50% of the result. The other 50% will come from televoting, that is, from the votes of the public.
The winner of the national final… will pack their bags for Switzerland.
What We Know About This Year’s Eurovision Event:
The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 will be its 69th edition and will be held in Basel, Switzerland. Organized by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the host broadcaster Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG SSR), the contest will take place at the St. Jakobshalle, with two semi-finals on May 13 and 15, and the final on May 17, 2025.
Thirty-eight countries will participate in the contest, with Montenegro returning after two years of absence.
On December 16, 2024, SRG SSR unveiled the stage. Inspired by modern architecture and new technologies, the mountains, and the linguistic diversity of the country, the result is impressive.
This year’s theme focuses on the “Celebration of Unity and Polyphony,” highlighting the message of diversity and cooperation among peoples.
