More than 70,000 objects from the former royal estate of Tatoi are now accessible through an online portal launched by the Culture Ministry.
Entitled “Tatoi Collections: Unlocking the Material Culture and History of a Century,” the portal presents furniture, artworks, jewelry, clothing, and personal documents that illuminate aspects of Greek and European history from the 19th to the 20th century.
Speaking at the launch event at the Benaki Museum, Culture Minister Lina Mendoni said the project marks “a new chapter for Tatoi,” which “remained neglected and underutilized for decades” despite its historical and environmental significance.
She added that the wider restoration and redevelopment program, due for completion in 2026, aims to transform the 169-hectare estate into an open, accessible green space dedicated to culture, education and recreation.
