Opa! The Richmond Greek Festival returns Thursday through Sunday


The 47th annual Richmond Greek Festival kicks off today, May 29, and runs through Sunday, June 1, at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, located at 30 Malvern Avenue in Richmond’s Museum District. The event is free to attend and will take place rain or shine.

Festival hours

  • Thursday, May 29: 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.

  • Friday, May 30: 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.

  • Saturday, May 31: 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.

  • Sunday, June 1: 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. (or until sold out)

Attendees can enjoy a variety of traditional Greek dishes, including souvlaki, moussaka, spanakopita, baklava, and loukoumades. The festival also features live music, traditional folk dancing, and a marketplace offering items such as olive oil, jewelry, and other goods. 

A special Cathedral Choir Concert is scheduled for Saturday, May 31, at 2 p.m. 

Each day of the festival supports a different local charity:

  • Thursday: Elijah House Academy and Richmond Habitat for Humanity

  • Friday: Little Hands Virginia

  • Saturday: CrossOver Healthcare Ministry

  • Sunday: Goochland Cares

While there is a small church parking lot, street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood. Visitors are advised to observe all posted parking signs and regulations.
