SAGINAW TWP, MI – With the smell of delicious Greek food wafting through the air and the “Opa” Dance Group performing, it’s officially time for Saginaw’s Greek Festival.
The Saginaw County festival started at noon today at the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, located at 4970 Mackinaw Road in Saginaw Township.

There’s plenty of good eats and entertainment in store for the rest of the weekend.
Guests can expect to see the savory menus offer gyros, Greek fries, calamari, pastichio, moussaka, tiropita, dolmathes, and loukoumades. As for the pastries, there will be baklava, chocolate baklava, melomakarona, kourabiethes, and tsoureki available.
Entertainment includes a variety of Greek-based performances featuring live music and dancing throughout each day.
There is also a beverage tent offering beer, wine, seltzers and some Greek drinks.
Cash, credit and debit are accepted for all food, at the market and the bar.
The St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church is open for tours at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m., and 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Children can also enjoy inflatable bounce houses, face painting and balloon making.

Saginaw’s Greek Festival is open Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission is free for all three days of the festival until 4 p.m. Children under the age of 12 are able to attend the event free of cost, but adults have to pay a $3 admission fee after 4 p.m.
