Stylianos Gavril, The Greek Ambassador to Iran met and discussed with Dr. Mahdi Alinejad, Secretary General of the Committee.
Iran NOC; Tehran: At the
beginning of this meeting, Dr. Mahdi Alinejad, the NOC Secretary General, while
welcoming the Greek Ambassador, pointed out the cultural similarities between
the two historical countries of Iran and Greece and emphasized that both can
have extensive cooperation in the field of sports on various issues. He
continued: “We have many cultural similarities and this can pave the way for
further interaction between the two countries of Greece and Iran at the level
of the National Olympic Committees, especially since you, as the representative
and ambassador of Greece in Iran, have an important role in developing these
relations”.
“We can have good joint
experiences in the field of sports communication by holding joint camps in
different disciplines within the framework of a memorandum of understanding and
using each other’s coaches and instructors to grow our sport by holding various
training courses” emphasizing on no limit to increase sports communication
in between, stated the NOC Secretary-General.
Stylianos Gavriel, the Greek
Ambassador to Iran, stated: “I am honored to be your guest. I visited the
Iranian Sports Museum and was impressed by this museum and the honors recorded
in it. This museum is very beautiful. When I saw it, I realized how you respect
the dignity of champions and medalists. Winning medals is difficult, and above
that are human values, which you can clearly feel in your museum how much attention
is paid to these matters. This museum is like the diamond of Iranian sports.
Referring to the honors of Paralympic athletes in the National Sports Museum,
the Greek Ambassador said: “This shows the level of attention you pay to
this part of society.”
