Neymar is key for Santos to sign its biggest sponsorship deal in history with Novibet

Blaze will no longer display its logo on Santos’ uniform to allow Novibet to join. The contract, which still needs to be formally signed, will last two years, valid until April 2027.

The agreement will bring an annual contribution of R$70 million (US$ 12,15m) to Santos, with the possibility of the amount being even higher through performance triggers. One of the most important clauses involves Neymar remaining at the Club, with additional bonus payments if the forward stays at ‘Peixe‘,” reports Lucas Barros, a reporter for the Diário do Peixe website.

The amount to be offered by Novibet, a betting house based in Malta, Europe, will make Peixe surpass Atlético-MG, which earns R$60 million (US$ 10,4m) a year with H2Bet, and catch up with Vasco and São Paulo, which also earn R$70 million/year (US$ 12,15) with Betfair and Superbet, respectively.

The contract with Novibet will make Peixe receive up to three times more than expected with Blaze. “The new agreement with Novibet promises around R$140 million (US$24,3m) to R$170 (29,5) million for the same two years, boosting Santos’ financial health,” the report concludes.

The partnership between Santos and Novibet is essential for Neymar’s renewal negotiations. The number 10 has an initial contract until June, but his father has already been working on a new agreement with president Marcelo Teixeira. CEO Pedro Martins made it clear this Friday that the club’s president is taking care of the pending issue.

Novibet also has plans to promote marketing actions in conjunction with Santos, including a major promotion for its 113th anniversary. Santos will celebrate its birthday again on April 14. The signing should happen next week, after the agreement was finalized in recent days.

The debut of the uniform with the new sponsor should take place in the game against Atlético-MG, confirmed for April 16, at Vila Belmiro, for the third round of the Brazilian Championship.
