New restaurant with family recipes and mum-led kitchen to open in Moseley

A new family-run restaurant is set to open in Moseley this week promising ‘authentic’ Greek food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Greek Aura Restaurant will open on Friday, September 5 at 112 Alcester Road.

Run by restaurant manager and chef Admir ‘Miri’ Cela and his wife Ola, the pair have taken on Miri’s mother Moza to lead the kitchen in serving up dishes to her family recipes.

It includes traditional plates such as meze, souvlaki, moussaka and dolmades with options for vegans and vegetarians.

Greek wine and beer will be on offer in the dining room, which features hand-painted sea blue murals by local artist Lucy Danielle and will have a soundtrack of Greek music ‘to transport guests back to their holiday in Greece’.

Ola, who previously worked at Mr Greek Gyros in Smethwick, said: “After exploring various areas in Birmingham, we felt that Moseley was the perfect place to introduce a Greek restaurant.”

Miri added: “We’re excited to introduce Greek hospitality to this wonderful community.

“Our aim is to create a warm and inviting space where everyone can enjoy our family recipes and experience the joy of sharing meals together, just as we do back in Greece.”

The plan is to launch a takeaway service but on opening night, the couple are offering a complimentary tasting menu of meze.

Ouzo, plate smashing and more are planned from 5pm on Friday, September 5.

Greek Aura Restaurant will be at 112 Alcester Road, Moseley, B13 8EF.
