BROOMALL, PA – National Church Music Sunday was celebrated at St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church in Broomall on October 5.
“The Church commemorates National Church Music Sunday, the Sunday nearest to the Feast Day of St. Romanos, Patron Saint of Church Musicians,” Senior and Youth Choir Director Dena Papadopoulos said. “This Sunday has been designated as a time to recognize Church Musicians in local parishes throughout the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.”
The community thanked those who give many hours of dedicated service to their Church Music Ministry – the chanters, choir director, choir singers, and youth choir singers.

“Theirs is a meaningful stewardship, and they play a vital role in the liturgical life of our Church,” Papadopoulos said. “Our St. Luke Church Musicians were congratulated and thanked on this special day. During coffee hour, a cake reception was offered by our Ladies Philoptochos in gratitude to our beloved St. Luke Choir and Chanters.”
