The Mytilenian Brotherhood of Sydney and NSW is keeping Greek culture alive and thriving in 2025 with its heartwarming monthly event, To Tavernaki Mas.
On Friday, July 25, the community is invited to gather once again for a night of food, music, and filoxenia at the Mytilenian House in Canterbury, Sydney.
Following the success of previous nights, this month’s Tavernaki will feature a live performance by popular Greek artist Nikita, joined by Serafim Bougiotis and Michael Tamba.

Guests will enjoy a delicious mezedakia menu and the signature kontosouvli that has quickly made these events a staple in the local Greek calendar – all for just $55.
What began earlier this year as a simple idea has blossomed into a beloved tradition.
“Since opening its doors, Tavernaki Mas has been more than just a place to enjoy authentic food – it’s been a gathering point for community, culture, and connection,” Joanna Tzanellis, Vice President of the Brotherhood, tells The Greek Herald.
“Whether it’s through a shared meal, a warm conversation, or a familiar dish that sparks a memory, we aim to offer more than a dining experience. We want every visit to feel like coming back to something real and heartfelt.”

Held on the last Friday of every month, To Tavernaki Mas brings the atmosphere of a Greek taverna to Sydney’s west – complete with traditional live music, nostalgic dishes from Messinia Catering, and a crowd that feels like family.
Bookings are essential and spots fill quickly. Call 0435 604 433 to reserve your table and be part of this growing community celebration.
Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply looking to reconnect with your roots, To Tavernaki Mas is where tradition lives on – one plate, one song, and one evening at a time.
