Megaron the Athens Concert Hall joins in the celebration of World Music Day with a unique open-air concert in its lush Garden on Friday, June 21—an evening filled with color, rhythm, and melodies from diverse musical genres.
On the main stage, the Athens State Orchestra performs the legendary suite “Alexis Zorbas” by Mikis Theodorakis, in a new orchestration by Dimitris Michas—an iconic work that fuses symphonic richness with the spirit of Greek tradition.
On the side stage, the Aether Quartet brings to life the popular String Quartet No. 12 “American” by Antonín Dvořák, performed by the distinguished musicians Andreas Papanikolaou, Vasilis Soukas, Enkela Kokolani, and Angelos Liakakis.
The evening concludes with the Domna Samiou Greek Folk Music Association, presenting a dynamic program rich in the authentic sounds of Greek musical heritage, back on the main stage.
