Mumford & Sons came to the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, California on Monday to begin a two-night stand at the iconic venue. The Greek play saw the British band unveiling a song named after a figure from Greek mythology, “Icarus.”

Mumford & Sons are touring around their first album since 2018, Rushmere, which arrived on March 28. However, at the Greek, frontman Marcus Mumford explained that “Icarus” is set to appear on the band’s next album:

“I know we were gone for too long. We missed you so much and we don’t want to make it that long again. We put this new record out, Rushmere, which we love. But in six years, I’m glad to say we wrote more than 10 songs and we thought we’d just play one off the next record.”

“Icarus” carries Mumford & Sons signature knack for a build up and big hooks. Watch the debut below:

Mumford & Sons launched the concert with the title track to Rushmere and would perform an additional three cuts off the LP: “Caroline,” “Truth” and “Where It Belongs.” Additional favorites performed in the main set included “I Will Wait,” “Awake My Soul,” “White Blank Page” and “Little Lion Man.”

Following the latter, the band closed the initial set with “Dust Bowl Dance,” off their 2009 debut album, Sigh No More. The folk-rockers bookend the five-song encore with two more tracks off their first album, “Timshel” and “The Cave.”
