Melbourne’s Greeks ring in 2025 with dance and celebration

Melbourne’s Greek community welcomed the New Year in style, celebrating 2025 with lively gatherings at homes and festive dances hosted by local associations and community groups.

One of the standout events was the New Year’s Eve Ball organised by the Oakleigh Greek Community, held in the hall of the Saints Anargiri Church.

The evening was filled with joy and high spirits as attendees danced the night away. Among them was Father Stavros Kakavas, the church’s parish priest, who impressed everyone with his skillful moves in traditional Greek dances.

The Nafpaktian Philanthropic Association also hosted its highly anticipated New Year’s Ball last Tuesday, exceeding all expectations. Over 500 attendees of all ages gathered to enjoy exquisite food, exchange warm wishes, and revel in Greek music and dance until the early hours.

The event once again highlighted the association’s reputation for hosting unforgettable celebrations, solidifying its place as a cultural touchstone within Melbourne’s vibrant Greek community.
