Melbourne’s Apostolis Kasparpidis impresses on ‘The Voice of Greece’ (Video)

A young Greek Australian from Melbourne has won over audiences on The Voice of Greece, the hit music competition watched by millions in Greece and abroad.

Apostolis Kasparpidis, who was born and raised in Melbourne, has Greek roots through his father, who was born in Greece before migrating to Australia as a child. His mother was also born in Australia.

Performing the song ‘File’, Kasparpidis impressed all four judges with his distinctive tone and emotional delivery, prompting them all to turn their chairs. Panos Mouzourakis, Christos Mastoras, Giorgos Mazonakis and Helena Paparizou were all eager to have him join their teams.

After a spirited battle between the coaches, the talented young singer chose to join Giorgos Mazonakis’s team, saying his decision reflected Mazonakis’s artistic identity and experience in the world of popular Greek music.

In the most recent episode of the competition, ten contestants advanced to the next round as the four coaches continued to recruit new talent. Mouzourakis welcomed Alexandra Papailia and Antonis Xenakis to his team, while Paparizou added Giannis Poulios, Giannis Liagouris and Konstantinos Xystouris. Christos Mastoras selected Antigoni Feleki and Rea Bouris, and Mazonakis’s team grew to include Kasparpidis, Stratos Kypros and Giorgina Michanou.

Now in its 11th season on SKAI TV, The Voice of Greece promises new surprises, powerful performances, and the coaches’ always entertaining rivalries.

The Greek Australian community is following Kasparpidis’s journey with pride, as the Melbourne singer shows determination to make his mark on Greece’s music scene — and make his hometown proud.
