Matt Maltese has shared ‘Pined For You My Whole Life’, the third single from his upcoming album Hers, set for release on 16th May.
The track lands alongside the announcement of his most extensive tour to date, with 46 shows across North America, the UK, and Europe in late 2025.
“Potentially the most amount of yearning I’ve done in a song. Which is saying something,” Maltese says of the single.
“Musically, it was a true joy to make and is heavily inspired by all the Motown and soul I grew up with. I’m not ashamed to say I get a lot of joy out of writing boldly pathetic declarations of love through the veil of American-leaning soul music.”
Built around a lush, swooning arrangement, ‘Pined For You My Whole Life’ leans into Maltese’s signature blend of romance and self-awareness. The new single follows ‘Anytime, Anyplace, Anyhow’ and ‘Always Some MF’, teasing what’s to come from Hers, an album he describes as his most intimate yet.
“This record was written on reflection of a much longer-term love,” he explains. “The complications and wonderful roads that that goes through and the more informed heartaches that come out of it. I got to really reflect and slave over it… It’s a bit like having a year to write a really important email.”
Hers marks Maltese’s first self-produced album since Krystal and continues his knack for transforming deeply personal moments into wry, observational songwriting. The record follows his 2023 album Driving Just To Drive and last year’s Songs That Aren’t Mine, a home-recorded covers project featuring collaborations with Dora Jar and Liana Flores.

Beyond his own music, Maltese has also stepped into theatre, composing original music for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of Twelfth Night.
The Tour For You My Whole Life kicks off in September, with stops at major venues including Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre and London’s Roundhouse. Tickets go on sale at 10am local time on Friday 21st March via matt-maltese.com.
