Marianthi Vlachos Introduces Lambades at Hellenic Aesthetic Ahead of Easter

NEW YORK — Are you looking for beautiful lambades to gift your godchildren, grandchildren, children, nieces, or nephews this Easter? Head over to Hellenic Aesthetic in Astoria, where Marianthi Vlachos has made handmade lambades crafted with high-quality materials imported from Greece. And if you’re feeling a little creative, we’ve even got a video of Marianthi herself showing you how to make them from the comfort of your own home!

Located at 30-91 31st Street in Astoria, is where you’ll find the Greek lifestyle store known for selling anything from imported Greek designer clothing to handmade sandals, embroidered hats, beautiful, handcrafted jewelry, women’s accessories, rolled up backgammon boards, tote bags, hats, candles, coffee, and more.

Speaking with The National Herald, Marianthi Vlachos revealed this will be the first time since the store opened back in 2021 that she will be making and selling handcrafted lambades just in time for Easter.

“I’m really excited because this is something that the community has been asking us to do for years, and I didn’t want to do it unless I was really excited about what we were providing, and I think that these are really sweet and special — I’m excited to be able to provide this finally,” Vlachos told TNH.

“They’re one of our biggest requests from our community. And as I love Easter and I have a goddaughter myself, they’re a fun tradition.”

“I remember my grandmother would always buy us lambades and bring them from New York to Florida for Easter, and so it’s always been a cool tradition and I’m excited to do this.”
Priced at $38 each, the lambades come in two designs, one personally decorated by Vlachos with blue accessories, and one with pink, suitable for a boy and a girl and will be available all through the lead up to Easter in store and online, while supplies last.

When asked what the response has been like so far from people in the community, Vlachos shared;

“People think that they’re great and they’re really complimentary of them,” she said.

“We sold a bunch right after we posted them, so that’s wonderful, and we’ve been shipping a lot out, and have a few at the store so people can purchase them here as well.”

“But so far, the reception has been positive and I’m excited for that because I want people to be as excited about them as I am.”

Hellenic Aesthetic is open from Wednesday through Saturday, from 12 to 6 PM, and on Sundays from 12 to 5 PM.
