BOXPARK Liverpool has announced that two new local traders have joined the venue. The new traders join street food vendors including Yoki Social Table, Yum Cha, Shake? and Simply Salt N Pepper. One of the new traders, Christakis, is already a Liverpool staple and the Greek brand is recognisable in the city.

The second trader to join the street food stalls is Rogue Pizza Co., which is available to order inside the venue at BOXPARK Liverpool as well as on UberEats. Christakis has been operating in the city for over 25 years, with Christakis Georgiou creating authentic Greek dishes that are known and loved by Liverpool.

Speaking to the ECHO previously Christakis explained he moved to the UK after he met wife Francesca, who’s from Liverpool but is half Cypriot on her dad’s side, when she moved to Cyprus at age 17.

He told the ECHO: “I moved to the UK for a better start. I’ve worked very hard in my life. I had two jobs when I moved here and became a manager at Cesar’s Palace when it was the best restaurant in Liverpool.”

Ceaser’s Palace on Renshaw Street was popular in the 1990s but closed its doors in 2008. Known as a ‘special occasion’ place’, the restaurant had more than 300 covers and served a variety of dishes including pasta, pizza and burgers.

Christakis has since made a name for himself in Liverpool with his titular restaurant chain, best known for its radio jingle.

Opening alongside Christakis is Rogue Pizza Co., which is run by owner Matthew Keenan, operations director, Ben Gorry and finance director Jay Riley.

Rogue Pizza Co. is part of an “umbrella brand” of tour caterers Rock N Rogue, which has catered for major stars across the world including Green Day, Sabrina Carpenter, Mary J Blige, Sting, Shinedown, Jorja Smith, Jamie Webster, Catfish and The Bottlemen, Bryson Tiller and Bring Me The Horizon.

Joel Lee, general manager at BOXPARK Liverpool, said: “We’ve been working with local concepts to give our guests an even wider range of delicious dishes and felt that both a Greek kitchen and one that serves such classics like pizza and pasta were necessary and would add so much to our offering.

“Both Christakis and Rogue have been really well received and we’re excited to see their menus develop further over the coming months.”

Christakis Georgiou, owner of Christakis, added: “We felt that BOXPARK Liverpool needed a Greek style vendor, and we were highly experienced, serving traditional Greek food in Liverpool! It’s a very exciting time.

“The Baltic Triangle is a thriving area. I’m especially looking forward to having the train station just a few steps away and seeing the Baltic become even busier.”

Jay Riley, finance director at Rogue Pizza Co., said: “When we created Rock N Rogue during Covid to offer touring bands, artists and crew fresh, restaurant quality food throughout their tours, word spread and we’ve grown so much each year with rave reviews.

“When the opportunity arose to join BOXPARK Liverpool with Rogue Pizza Co. we were incredibly excited. BOXPARK shares many of the same values that we do; offering a great space for the people of Liverpool to experience great sports, music, food and drink, and it’s located in The Baltic Triangle, Liverpool’s cultural and creative hub.

“We couldn’t imagine a better place to call home!”
