The worldwide hit musical Mamma Mia! is headed to Manchester next March as part of a brand new UK tour.
Hosted at the Manchester Palace Theatre, the show will be performed 23 times across 17 dates between March 3 and March 21, 2026.
Celebrating its 26th year, it tells the story of a mother, a daughter, and three possible fathers while on a Greek island retreat. Interweaving ABBA’s famous music throughout, it’s proven to be one of the most successful West End musicals in the world having entertained over 7.3 million people during its run.
There’s no word on the casting yet, but actors who previously filled roles in the 2024-25 tour include the likes of Izi Maxell, Mazz Murray, Ben Irish, Stephen Beckett, Christopher Dickins and Luke Jasztal. It’s currently unclear if the same actors will reprise their roles for the 2025-26 UK tour.
Originally debuting in 1999, Judy Craymer’s creation has gone from strength to strength with the 2008 movie starring Amanda Seyfried and Meryl Streep becoming the highest grossing live action musical film of all time when it released. A sequel came out a decade later in 2018 to continue the story with Lily James as the star, which equally became the world’s most successful musical sequel of all time.
Now, Manchester residents can see the whole thing for themselves when the production hits the Palace Theatre stage next year. Here’s what you need to know if you’re interested in picking up tickets.
