MESC 2026 has just come to an end, which Aidan won with the song “Bella”, securing Malta’s representation at Eurovision 2026.
PBS , the official broadcaster of Malta, hosted this year’s Malta Eurovision Song Contest at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre. Tonight’s Grand Final was hosted by eurostar Destiny (ESC 2020 + 2021), singer Gaia Cauchi (winner of the Eurovision Junior 2013) and presenter Keane Cutajar. The opening song was Chiara’s “Angel” , Malta’s entry in Eurovision 2005, which came in second place behind My Number One .

The Grand Final began with a parade of the 12 finalists, in Eurovision style. PBS certainly put on an excellent production with modern sound, advanced technology and new talents that will keep the local music scene busy. The finalists’ postcards were very interesting, as each artist did an acoustic cover of a Eurovision song.

Interval acts of MESC 2026
After the competition part of the evening, the event filled its time with impressive interval acts from Destiny (Eurovision 2020 & 2021, presenter of the evening), Miriana Conte (Eurovision 2025, winner of MESC 2025), Scream Daisy and Baby Lasagna.
A special guest performance was made by Baby Lasagna , the Croatian rock artist who achieved a historic 2nd place in Eurovision 2024, winning the televoting. On the MESC stage, he performed the hits Biggie Boom Boom and Rim Tim Tagi Dim.
The interval acts were closed by last year’s winner of MESC Miriana Conte , who had caused reactions for the title “Kant” . At the beginning of her performance, she included – to our surprise – the excerpt that they announced that she received only 8 points from the televoting. In her impressive performance, she performed a ten-minute medley from the album Over Stimulated (which was released just yesterday), starting with I8. She performed the hits Napoletana and Kant , of course.
