When the seasoned team behind the esteemed SOKA and Jango Korean BBQ open a Greek restaurant, we listen up—because we know it’s going to be incredible. Meet Lyra.
Located on Ocean Street in the heart of Maroochydore, Lyra brings authentic Greek flavours to the Sunshine Coast, drawing inspiration from both traditional and contemporary Greek cuisine, history, and dining culture.
At the sleek 90-seat venue you’ll find a vibrant mix of traditional dishes and modern Greek plates, with a strong focus on local and seasonal produce. The extensive menu traverses from dips and bread to raw plates, mezedes (small plates) and mains to salads and of course, dessert.
Putting an elevated spin on the Greek dishes you know and love (plus plenty you don’t), expect the meals to be as beautifully plated as they are delicious.
Start small with tzatziki, taramasalata, hummus and pillowy soft pita bread before digging into scallop crudo, spanakopita and flaming cheese saganaki.
On the mains front the oven-baked lamb shoulder with tzatziki is simply sublime, and you’d be remiss not to order the crispy pork belly with orange caramel, potato, peas and red hummus. There’s also a plentitude of vegetarian and gluten-free options so no one has to miss out.
As hard as it may be, try to leave room for dessert—you can’t go wrong with the baklava with kaimaki ice cream or the baked kataifi with mastic ice cream.
