LUXEMBOURG: LSC 2025 finalists revealed!

The 7 finalists, who are going to claim, in the final of the Luxembourg Song Contest – LSC, the golden ticket, for Basel, Switzerland and Eurovision 2025, were revealed today by the national, public, broadcaster of Luxembourg, RTL.

77 songs from 53 artists managed to qualify for the final stage of auditions, held between Friday 8 and Sunday 11 November 2024! The international jury consisting of Diogo Fernandes, Poli Genova, Niamh Kavanagh, Marie Myriam and Eldar Gasimov, was asked to select the 7 finalists.

Laura Thorn is a new face to be seen in this year’s LSC. Laura is a music teacher at the Escher Conservatory. She plays piano and cello and has a master’s degree in pop music, solfège and medical pedagogy!

One Last Time are known from the Luxmbourg Song Contest 2024, where they competed with “Devil In The Detail”. The band, which will release its debut album this year, consists of:

  • Jonathan Fersino – μπάσο, 32 ετών
  • Barbara Salvi – πλήκτρα, 27 ετών
  • Tom Sagramola – κιθάρα, 35 ετών
  • Alessandro Sorbello (Lalo) – drums, 25 ετών

But what’s the motto of their entry this year? “One more time, One Last Time”.

Luzac, although a professional educator, discovered his love for music young, learning the violin and loving the urban pop music scene. After debuting his first single, “J’y arriverai”, in 2021, he focused on his solo career. He writes, sings and composes his own songs and is currently working on his first album.

Rhythmic Soulwave is a six-piece band, bringing together different backgrounds and influences! The band members are Mael Fontana, Leopold Strauß, Angela Aguilera Caballero, Diego Lucero, Zakar Lörinc and lead singer Carmen Carbonnell Suarez. Their music is a unique combination of jazz, Latin, classical and pop rock. They met at the Luxembourg Conservatory and like to combine their multicultural roots into a sound that is universal and captivating.

A newcomer with immense talent, she honed her skills in violin, flute, and modern singing at the Regional School of Music in Dudelange, Luxembourg. With her debut single, “Stay”, released in 2023, she’s ready to show her solo artistry. When she’s not making music, she’s studying to become a teacher.

The 27-year-old Rafaela Teixeira Fernandes is the winner of “Luxembourg’s Next Popstar” in 2016 and “Top Voice of Luxembourg” in 2018. In LSC 2024 she competed with Angy as a duet, performing “Drop”, but this year the their paths diverged and they both auditioned as solo artists.

Zero Point Five is a Luxembourgish band loved for their live shows. It was founded in 2009 and consists of Federico (Kiko) Menichetti, Gilles Saracini and Christophe Reitz. Their music combines pop, folk and country, offering an irresistible sound.

The artists, at the moment, are in the studio, where they are recording the final versions of their entries and the songs are expected to be announced in mid December.

The Luxembourg Song Contest – LSC 2025, will be held on January 25, 2025, at the Rockhal of the Grand Duchy and the result will be determined by both the jury vote and the TV audience vote.
