Can it be a fun weekend without live music performances? Not in Cyprus and contrary to popular belief, there are plenty of music events happening around the island connecting local musicians with music lovers of all tastes. This weekend is all about music in rural areas as well as big theatre stages by artists from Cyprus and Greece. Talk about variety!
In the Larnaca district, two exciting performances by local musicians are on this Friday. Performing at Savino Live for the first time is Sais with songs from his first two albums, covers of Cypriot songs and unreleased music. Joining Sais and his band will be Cypriot comedian Hambis who will add an amusing touch to the evening.
In Dromolaxia, Larnaka 2030 organises the next Follow the Music event hosting a secret concert with the vocal ensemble Kalesma and music band Cymphony. The performance will take place at a location disclosed only to registered audiences this Friday, starting at 8pm, and will feature traditional music and arrangements.
Nicosia audiences will have more music to enjoy this Friday. In an intimate, cosy setting, the popular local trio Rumba Attack will return to Sarah’s Jazz Club to play their Flamenco Rumba-inspired music. Infused with guitar sounds, Mediterranean melodies and colourful percussions, their performances are always a treat for the ears.
Lastly, the acclaimed Greek singer Eleonora Zougeneli will join the events of the Nicosia International Festival with a concert this Friday evening. Taking place at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre at 8.30pm, the singer will perform beloved songs from the Greek music scene, honouring its many talented songwriters, composers and singers.
