Downtown Youngstown will be hosting multiple events throughout the weekend of July 11 to July 13, from YSU to Wick Park.

Downtown Youngstown will be hosting multiple events throughout the weekend of July 11 to July 13, from YSU to Wick Park.
Before the weekend begins, Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church will be holding the 41st annual Greek Summerfest starting on Thursday, July 10. Those attending the festival can enjoy displays of Greek tradition, whether it be Greek food and pastries or live music.
Greek Summerfest will go on until 8 p.m. on Thursday, with Friday and Saturday going on from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday starting at 11 a.m. before ending at 6 p.m.
Penguin City Brewing Company will be hosting the Mahoning Valley Irish Festival beginning Friday, July 11, from 5 to 11 p.m. and then will be held from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. the next day. Adult admission is $5 a day and children enter for free.
Saturday, July 12, not only marks the second day of the Irish Festival but also the beginning of Youngstown State University‘s Summer Festival of the Arts. Exhibits showcasing various art such as paintings, sculptures, ceramics, jewelry and textiles.
The Festival of the Arts will also feature live performances, food vendors and activities for children. Additionally, the Ward Beecher Planetarium will be putting on shows such as Big Bird’s Adventure, Moons: World of Mystery, and more.
This festival will start at 10 a.m. and go on until 6 p.m., and on Sunday, July 13, the festival will go on from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For fans of live music and jazz, there will be two special events going on this weekend within less than two miles away from each other.
Starting on Saturday and with gates opening at 6 p.m., the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre will be hosting the Youngstown Wine and Jazz Festival featuring jazz artist Lindsey Webster and her opening act, Hubb’s Grove.
Ticket prices will be $20 for a seat ticket and $10 for lawn access.
Over at Wick Park, a series of jazz concerts are being hosted on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. with performers such as jazz artists Skip Martin from Kool & the Gang and Russell Thompson and the Free Agent.
There are no tickets or admission fees for this concert series.
