The Buffalo Sabres (47-23-8) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (48-23-6) 4-2 on Monday night in Buffalo. Tampa Bay and Buffalo are now tied for first in the Atlantic Division with 102 points each.
The Lightning got goals from Nikita Kucherov and Jake Guentzel in the losing effort. Andrei Vasilevskiy took the loss in net, saving 25 of the 28 shots he faced.
The Lightning now travel to Ottawa where they’ll play the Senators on Tuesday night. Puck drop between the Lightning and Senators are scheduled for 7:00 PM on Tuesday night.
